Pomegranate’s Nutritional Value:
Pomegranate
is an excellent source of dietary fiber. According to the Dietary
Guidelines for Americans most Americans do not consume enough fiber and
therefore, pomegranate can be a good nutritional source of fiber. It has
high content of vitamins C,K, folate and thiamin.
Pomegranate, Cancer and Inflammatory Diseases:
Pomegranate is an excellent source of antioxidants. Antioxidants are
beneficial in fighting against cancer and also are considered as
anti-agining nutrients. The reason is that antioxidants help our body to
eliminate the cells with damaged DNAs that may potentially become
cancerous. As the result, pomegranate is considered as top-notch fruit
in fight against prostate, colon and breast cancers.
Also pomegranate contains some anti-inflammatory agents that may
reduce the symptoms of some chronic inflammatory diseases such as
rheumatoid arthritis.
