Eat more sprouts

Sprouts are among the most nutrient dense foods on the planet. Nutrient density is the ratio of nutrients to calories. Nutrient dense foods provide high amounts of nutrients per calorie.

This makes sense if you think about it, because that tiny sprout has to contain everything that a little seed needs to become a full blown plant. Sprouts are packed with several vitamins and can contain anywhere from 20 to 35 percent protein, depending on the sprout.

Sprouts also contain high concentrations of minerals, anti-oxidants and other super phytochemicals that help to nourish and protect our bodies. Sprouts are considered a “pre-digested” food, meaning that the sprouting process has begun to break down some of the nutrients present within them, leaving less work for your body to do.
